Merry Christmas 2010

Christmas pic overload ahead*****

Overview-
Christmas Eve: Dinner at our house w/some of my siblings. Very yummy ham and we had a lot of fun. Christmas eve PJ's, movie, "Twas the Night Before Christmas" reading by Eric, go to sleep!!

Christmas AM: Kala yelling, "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!" at 6:58 am (she had been up since 4 am), opening tons of gifts, Kala saying, "I'm going to pee...I'm going to pee...I might throw up," as she opened her new Mac laptop from Santa, Santa brought Eric a new BBQ and tons of Steelers stuff, Santa brought me a cute new jacket and a new Coach purse! Breakfast-nap-rest--start again at 12 pm when Taylor came home...opened more gifts. Taylor loved her new Mac from Santa. Taylor also got an iHome, a Snuggie, and tons of band stuff. Kala got Uggs, a Snuggie, and gymnastics stuff. We opened all the gifts under the tree: DVDs, boots, Uggs, and sweats for me, Eric got a billion Steelers things (BBQ tools, beenies, shirts, jersies, etc), Taylor got more band stuff, movies, and Dr. Pepper from the dogs, Kala got a leotard, clothes, make up kit, and Root Beer from the dogs. Brownie and Soy Sauce got a bone and toy in their stocking (which was destroyed by dinner). There is a pic of Brownie cuddling his toy before he destroyed it.

Christmas Night-Went to dad's for more gifts. Taylor received a Kindle which she wanted, Kala got a bright purple beam which she LOVES (I'm sure I'll do some routines on it too!), and Eric and I received dinner for 2 at the Elderberry House in Oakhurst...a very nice restaurant. We are planning on using it for our anniversary and booking a room too (Oh la la).

We had a fabulous Christmas!! And yes Eric was still adding lights up until Christmas Eve.

THANK YOU, KRYSTA! (& some extra pics)

There are 4 of us (Sara, Jen, Krysta, & me) who have been BFF's since elementary school. We live in different places (well except Jen finally moved back to Fresno YAY). Sara is in NM and Krysta is in TX. We text and email each other quite often. This year Sara suggested we do a gift exchange; she drew names and away we went. I got Sara (no I'm not telling yet!), Krysta got me, Jen got Krysta, and Sara got Jen. Jen and I went shopping last week and it was so much fun!! Well yesterday there was a package on my porch. It was addressed to me. Eric said it wasn't something he bought, so I opened it. It was 3 beautiful apothecary jars from Sears. Cool!! But who from!?! Eric and I tried to figure it out over the phone, then I thought well maybe it was Krysta. She didn't tell me it was coming straight from the store, but I sent her a text anyway. She said it was from her. OOPS! We were supposed to wait until Christmas to open our gifts. It didn't say "Don't Open Until Christmas!" Eric just rolls his eyes at me. Either way, I LOVE my gift. I figured it was meant to be because I rearranged my entire table decor to highlight the new jars. This is just the start. I'm sure I'll change things up later. There are also some of my other decorations (my favorites). Notice how Soy Sauce and Brownie have to get in the picture any chance they can. *My pics are very blurry because I can't find the plug that connects my good camera to my computer and I hate driving down to Rite Aid to put pics on a cd. Items look much better in person!*

O' Christmas Tree

December is a busy month for everyone!! Here are some pics of the family picking out our tree. It was FREEZING and the tree selection wasn't the as abundant this year because our normal tree farm is in the process of switching owners. We still found a great 8-9 footer!

Christmas-Take 1

Well last weekend was the annual Champion Christmas Celebration. We went to Idylwild (spelling?). It's about 6 1/2 hours from here...LONG DRIVE! We had fun opening gifts, bonding with family, and checking out the town. We were hoping for snow, but the only snow we found was the patch Kala, Taylor, & Colton are standing on in the one of the pics.

Thanksgiving and Beyond!

Wow...a month!?! That went by fast. Where to begin? Well, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It was the first time in a long time that the entire family was together for a holiday. It was fun to hang out, eat, play cards, and just be with my family. I was able to spend time with my nieces and nephews. We went to see "Megamind" and "Harry Potter" that week. Both are very cute movies. Now we are on to Christmas. I have some serious shopping to do! Yesterday, I pulled out all the gifts I purchased and was like, "WHAT THE HECK!" I thought I had more stuff. I'm very disappointed in me. I will be doing a lot of shopping this week!!! I'm very ready for break...3 weeks off for me. YAY. The kids only get 2 ha ha. And, yes, I do rub that in their faces. I started a week earlier than them in August and they rubbed it in mine. It's payback time. Last but not least--This past weekend was Mahkala's last meet. It's been a busy, fast season. It was the State Championships in Sacramento. Out of 17 girls, 9 on her team made it. You had to get a certain all around score during the season to make it to state. State is when you compete against girls from all over, many of whom we've never seen before. It's extremely competitive. Kala competed against 13, 14, and 15 year olds. I was a mess...naseous, stressed, and so nervous. I attempted to keep it all concealled until she went out on the mat. Then it was my turn to panic. Eric knows to not sit too close to me during meets. My sister, Sally, and my niece, Emily, came to watch from Santa Rosa. Eric drove up the morning of and brought one of Kala's BFF's, Sara, along with him. Kala was awesome!! I'm so proud of her. She hung with the older girls and let 'em know who was boss. She surpassed her averages on all events and in the all around. The scoring was much tougher, but she did great. She earned 8th on bars, 8th for beam, 4th for floor, 3rd on vault, and 4th place in the All-Around!! GO KALA! Not too shabby for State Championships and for her first year competing. We are very proud of her. She is proud of herself, but she's ready to move on to the next level and learn new skills. This week begins her school gymnastics season, so we are starting a new round. It's much more relaxed and all the meets are here in town (YAY for no traveling). Kala's favorite part of the weekend: getting her nails painted yesterday. They cannot have polish on during meets, so I wouldn't allow to her get manis/pedis all season long. She and I went and got our nails done. I was dying to get mine done too because I waited for her season to be over. Also, her other teammates did very well too. Her friend, Madi, got 2nd place. Abby got 8th, Caitlyn got 3rd, and Taylor got 5th. Every girl from her team got a medal in one event or another. We are very proud of Clovis Academy and Mahkala!!! WARNING-TONS OF PICS!
